What to Expect:
Here at Paws and Claws we offer a wide variety of services to prevent and detect diseases in your pet reptile. During your initial visit our doctor will do a comprehensive physical exam to assess the overall health of your pet. Your doctor may recommend routine fecal testing to rule out any parasites or harmful worms. During your annual visit we will discuss proper diet and husbandry. Annual checkups and proper husbandry are the first and most important defenses at maintaining your pets health.
Diagnostic Bloodwork:
Blood sample are obtained from your pet and analyzed for the presence of any systemic abnormalities. Routine bloodwork can also evaluate the overall health of your pet as well as provide information that may be key in detecting disease or illness.
Microbiology:
We can take samples from your pet to look for any abnormal bacterial, yeast, or fungal infections.
Radiographs/X-Rays:
Using radiological diagnostics, your doctor can visualize the size, shape and position of your reptile’s organs which can detect masses, tumors, fluid accumulation and any abnormalities in the bones or joints.
Laser Therapy:
Laser therapy expedites healing, promotes cell growth and reduces swelling and inflammation by stimulating blood flow. It is frequently used as a treating aid for post-op incisions, fractures, wounds, scars, as well as for soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries.
Surgical Procedures:
Although we are equipped to handle most emergencies and can do many surgical procedures, our doctors reserve the right to refer your pet to a specialist for complicated cases and or high-risk patients.
