New Veterinarian in Tallahassee: Meet Dr. Valeska Stamatti!

By September 9, 2025 No Comments

We are excited to announce that Dr. Valeska Stamatti has joined Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital as our newest associate veterinarian!

Dr. Stamatti was born in Venezuela and moved to the United States with her family at the age of four, where she grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida. From a young age, she had a strong love for animals, and during high school, she began volunteering at a local animal shelter. That experience sparked her passion for veterinary medicine and set her on the path toward her career.

She attended Florida State University, where she majored in biology, joined the pre-vet club, and worked her very first job in veterinary medicine right here at Paws & Claws as a kennel assistant and veterinary technician!

After graduation, she moved to Atlanta to continue working in animal hospitals, gaining hands-on experience while pursuing her education.

Dr. Stamatti went on to earn both her master’s degree and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Throughout her training and career, she developed a particular interest in soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, and dentistry.

As a native Spanish speaker, Dr. Stamatti is especially excited to help us better serve our local Hispanic community. We are thrilled to have a veterinarian on staff who can provide care and communication in both English and Spanish.

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Stamatti enjoys running, birdwatching, cooking, and baking. At home, she shares her life with two sweet bonded cats, Tony and Merlot.

Please join us in giving Dr. Stamatti a warm welcome back to Tallahassee and to the Paws & Claws family! We’re so glad to have her with us.
